Charles Barkley Needs To Learn From Tiger

I might be late on this, but when I was watching the halftime show for the Rockets/Mavs game, they showed a clip of Charles Barkley's golf swing and I had to post this.

It's Been Too Long

Sorry for not posting or updating this in over a month everybody. I've been extremely busy with soccer and school, but now that soccer is over, I will have more time to update the blog. Lemme update you about some stuff that's happened over the past month.

Soccer
Sadly, our soccer season ended earlier than we expected, and we under-achieved. We only got 4 wins, and lost some big games by a goal in OT and Double-OT. We beat Oakland Mills, Hammond, Howard (I scored), and Patterson. We still got some fresh warm-ups and just had fun. Good season.

Ravens
The Ravens are 4-3 and should be 6-1, but sometimes things just don't go your way. Flacco has looked great in some games, and down right terrible in others. The D is great as usual, but our offense needs to get back on track like they have been over the past 2 games in order to get into the playoffs.

Wizards
Sadly, Gilbert and Haywood are injured again, but Juan Dixon is back on the team and we still have Jamison and Butler. Stevenson needs to have another good year, improve this year, and continue with the good D. McGee and Thomas need to step up big time in order for a good shot this year.

T.I.
To me, Paper Trail proved to show how great T.I. is. Through all of his troubles he can still make great music. Enough said.

Tatum Bell is Cruddy

To set the story up, Rudi Johnson was released earlier in the week by the Bengals. He was their starting running back, but eventually lost the position to Chris Perry. I really don't understand why, because not that long ago Johnson was a pro-bowler. But the Lions call him up and he tries out for them. Now, I'm guessing that Tatum Bell, who was released by the Broncos and signed by the Lions, was thinking that Rudi Johnson was going to back him up, since Johnson said that Tatum would give him advice and they would talk after practice. However, this was not for the case for Bell. He was released by the Lions, losing the job to Johnson. Now, I guess to get back at Johnson, Tatum Bell was caught on video tape stealing the Gucci bags that Johnson had won at the Pro-Bowl. They were in the locker room, and Tatum Bell just straight up took it. This is real cruddy, but I must say it is hilarious. All I gotta say is, Tatum Bell you salty.

My Summer

Alright, so as you all know, today is the last day of summer vacation. I'm kind of sad because I love the summer, but this only means that I'm gonna get to see more of my friends, the regular season for soccer is in 2 weeks, and the NFL regular season is here too. But my summer was really good. I got to chill with my family, my girl, and my friends. Went to the pool a lot, went to the beach twice, and Atlantic City. I also got my permit yesterday, and a new dog. I moved my room into my basement, went to the Ravens' training camp, and mostly just chilled. Now, over this past weekend, I had to prep for school. I went and bought myself 3 new pairs of kicks (more to come). I got 2 pairs of air max's, one all white and one red, black, and white (different designs), and the all black Jordan Dentros.
I also had to cop a new North Face backpack. I got my supplies and everything, so I guess now I just gotta deal with the school year.

Fantasy Football

Last night, me and some of my boys held a fantasy football draft on ESPN.com. Now, if you don't know how fantasy football works, based on how the players you draft perform, you get points. It's a lot of fun to do the draft, and then watch your team and the other teams get points. So I'm gonna put my roster on here, and hopefully get some feedback from you, the readers.

Starters -
QB: Matt Hasslebeck
RB: Joseph Addai
RB: Marshawn Lynch
RB/WR: Fred Taylor
WR: Marques Colston
WR: Steve Smith
TE: Jason Witten
D/ST: Packers
K: Matt Stover

Bench -
RB: Chester Taylor
RB: DeAngello Williams
TE: Alge Crumpler
QB: Philip Rivers
TE: Donald Lee
RB: Leon Washington
D/ST: Ravens

Lemme know what you think of my roster

2008 Olympics So Far

So far in these Olympics, USA is leading in the medal count over China by a few, even though China has more gold medals. Michael Phelps is tearing it up, being 6 for 6 so far (6 gold medals and 6 world records). He is trying to become the first person to win 8 gold medals in the same Olympics. The USA Men's Basketball team is blowing everybody out, trying to win the gold for the first time since 2000. Sadly, the USA Men's Soccer team lost, but I wasn't too surprised. The Olympics aren't done, and that's all I've been following, so I can't really talk about more.

Raven's Training Camp

As you all know, I am a huge Baltimore Ravens fan. Luckily, my mom took off of work and took me to the Ravens' Training Camp up at McDaniel College in Westminster, MD. It was great. I saw the team work out and saw the new staff. Troy Smith looked very good, as well as Joe Flacco. We all know about Kyle Boller... Ray Rice looked real good too. Derrick Mason was putting the moves on, and Mark Clayton was just burning everybody. When it came time for autographs, I bought a Ravens' seat cushion for the players to sign. Sadly, I only got 3 autographs; Dan Cody, Kelly Gregg, and former boxer and rookie SS Tom Zbikowski. I was right infront of Troy Smith, and the man didn't sign my cushion. I was blown because I've been a big fan since his days at Ohio State..before his big year. I saw the greats on the team however, and it was a lot of fun.

My Dark Knight Review

So I just got home from watching The Dark Knight, and to me, as I predicted, it was excellent.  To me, this is the best Batman movie ever.  There were so many twists to the movie, and it made the overall plot very good.  The writer for this movie is incredible.  I know I wouldn't be able to write a Batman movie period, and he did the best one yet.  As far as the actors,  Christian Bale and Morgan Freeman did an excellent job as they always do, but to me, Heath Ledger was the stand-out actor.  He should win an Oscar for this movie.  He played the Joker very well, and gave him a new style.  His acting was amazing.  This is his best job as an actor.  I recommend that everybody see this movie, and I cannot wait for the 3rd one.

This Past Weekend

So this past weekend a few things happened that I wanted to write about.
1.) Rehoboth Beach
2.) Guitar Hero
3.) Manhunt

Rehoboth Beach
This was my second time to Rehoboth, and personally, I don't recommend it, at all.  When you get into the water, it's cold as usual for a beach in the mid-atlantic, and there are shells and tiny rocks on the sand for about the first 10 feet in that real hurt your feet.  It wasn't a pleasant experience.  Also, the boardwalk is mostly for little kids.  Racing games and shooting games are always fun, but there were just a lot of toddlers running around.  There is about two things that I liked there, the Hooters, you might have seen the pic from last year, and Thrashers Fries.  These fries were some of the best fries I have ever had.  They didn't need ketchup, just a little more salt than is already on there.  If you go to Rehoboth, you must stop by.  There are two on the boardwalk on Brooklyn Ave.

Guitar Hero
To be perfectly honest, I used to hate this game.  I was terrible, don't like rock music, and thought it was stupid.  But over the weekend, at nights I would play this game, since my best friend has it, and had fun.  I was doing terrible, which is a main reason why I hated it, but I started to get better and now I want to go buy it myself.  I don't know if I want the new one because I don't want to play songs from the same artist over and over...I might just wait until Guitar Hero 4 comes out.

Manhunt
I only have one thing to say about the game of manhunt I played.  I got very tired and I'm out of shape.  This is not good for soccer, which is why I'm going to conditioning from now on.

T.I. Drops New Single

Most of yall should know about T.I.'s single No Matter What by now, as it was leaked a while before the video was made, and now he has a new single; Swing Ya Rag ft. Swizz Beatz.  I love this song.  The beat is nice and it's just T.I. doin' his thing.  It's the second song released of his upcoming album Paper Trail.

The Dark Knight

I can honestly say that the newest Batman movie, The Dark Knight, looks to be the best movie this year.  Batman Begins, which came out a few years back, was a great Batman movie.  It was very different from the other Batman movies, in how Gotham was portrayed, and other small details.  The Dark Knight is the sequel to that movie, and it has very high reviews.  Everybody knows that the Joker is one of Batman's best enemies.  This movie has the Joker, who is portrayed very differently than people are used to, and introduces Harvey Dent, who later becomes Two-Face.  This movie has a lot to do with restoring order in Gotham and how Joker tries to disrupt that order.  The trailers show a lot of action, and I cannot wait to see it.

The Team That Won't Be...

Sadly, there is a 99.9% chance that this team I am about to suggest won't actually become a team.  During this offseason for the NBA, there is a free agent that has 2 championship rings in the past 3 years; James Posey.  I'm not praising this man or anything, but he has great experience and leadership qualities, not to mention he is clutch with his 3s in Staples Center.  Since he is a free agent, I believe that the Wizards should not bother to re-sign Roger Mason Jr., and use their extra money plus some of the money Gilbert left behind and make a big attempt to sign this man.  People might say, but the Wizards need a big man.  That is 100% true and I completely agree with it, believing we should have taken Darrell Arthur or traded up to get Roy Hibbert, but both championship teams that Posey played for only had 1 solid big man; Heat with Shaq and Celtics with Garnett.  The Heat had Udonis Haslem at the 4 and the Celtics had Kendrick Perkins at the 5.  To me, those two are not solid big men.  The Wizards have Antawn Jamison at the 4.  Posey brings a great boost off the bench with energy, clutch performances, and great free throw shooting.  Think about this... Gilbert, Stevenson, Caron, Jamison, Haywood as the starting 5, with Posey coming in at the 2.  To me, that is a huge threat.  However, Posey is talking to the Lakers, the team he just beat in the NBA Finals, so this is very unlikely to happen.

Filene's Basement

Yes this post is about a clothing store that does not actually sell it's own clothes; it sells name brand clothes for a cheap price!  It's great.  My mom shops there all the time, and since I had nothing better to do today since it was raining, I went up there with her.  At the men's section I noticed they had an assortment of name brands; American Eagle, Affliction, Ed Hardy, Ralph, ect.  I picked up 2 Affliction shirts, both were $30.  Being that the total of these two shirts was the price of about one shirt, with some exceptions for the very expensive ones, I was pumped.  Then I picked up two nice pairs of jeans that you can find in Nordstrom's for $30 a pair.  These were some great discounts!  If you're broke and trying to save some money, but still look fresh, check this place out!  Look at the bags they give you too...

Coney Island Tradition

As I was flippin' through the channels yesterday I came across a hot dog eating contest held every 4th of July.  It's a Nathan's Hot Dog eating contest that takes place in Coney Island, New York, the birthplace of Nathan's Hot Dogs.  You can see each one on ESPN, because somehow this is a sport.  To me, this contest is flat out disgusting.  How do you stuff all those hot dogs down your throat in minutes to see who can eat the most.  What does this prove???  "Man you suck, you only ate 63 hot dogs and I ate 64!"  Come on now, what kind of bragging rights is this?  I just don't get it...  If you haven't seen it already, check it out...

New Look

O yes, I got the new layout because I wasn't posting, so I thought I'd change that and post more, and I should switch up the look of the blog.  I like it more than the last layout but hit me up with how you think of it or any suggestions.

Breaking News

Following up on the offseason for the Wizards, Agent Zero agreed to sign with the team for a 6 year $111 million contract.  He agreed for $16 million less because he said he didn't want to bind the team financially and we still have money left over to sign Roger Mason Jr. if we wanted to.  Just read the link so it doesn't look like I'm copying what they say.

Now it's also the 4th of July which means fireworks and parties!!  Well just remember it's also our nation's birthday...but get those fireworks poppin!

Wizards Offseason

Alright so the Wizards drafted a 7 foot foward Javale McGee from Nevada, who should probably play center for us.  They also signed Antawn Jamison to a 4 year extension, who has been the most consistent player on the team as far as health and performance.  He's coming off his best season in the NBA at the age of 32.

Now they Wiz are trying to resign Gilbert Arenas.  They offered Arenas a 6 year deal worth $127 million, a max deal that Arenas wanted.  He also got a max deal from his first team, Golden State, who just lost Baron Davis to the Clippers, for 5 years $101 million.  Now Arenas said he wants to stay in DC, especially if Jamison stayed, because they have played together almost all of Arenas's career.  Now that Jamison is staying and they offered Arenas the max deal, he should definitely come back.  I know a lot of people have been hating on him because of his "ball-stopping" and knee injuries, but come on now.  Healthy he put up 28.4 points per game, 4th in the league.  He is our best scorer and when we had a healthy team, we were 1st in the East.  We've already proven we can beat Boston, the champs.  Now we have 3 all-stars on our team, why would you want to lose one to rack up more assists?  He needs to stay and should.

One last free agent is Roger Mason Jr., the local.  Yes he was a good scorer towards the end of the season, but I think we should try harder on James Posey, even though that isn't likely.  If we can't find a better backup PG, then go ahead and resign Mason.

Finals So Far

As of now, the series between the Celtics and Lakers for the NBA title is 3-2 in favor of the Celtics.  A lot has gone down so far, and here's what I think about a few things:

1.) Paul Pierce - Although he is the only Celtic I like, I do think he faked his knee injury, being that he is destroying every 3 on the Lakers and is playing incredible D on Kobe.  Don't miss that he played just about every minute in game 5.  If the Celtics win, he is the MVP no doubt.

2.) Kobe - Inconsistent.  He is the best player in the NBA but he is not playing like it.  He is still being effective, just he is capable of playing at a higher level, know what I mean?

3.) Lakers/Celtics Bench - Celtics bench is making the Lakers bench look sorry.  Leon Powe for 21 is unacceptable.  P.J. Brown slamming it and Sam Cassell posting up and scoring, also unacceptable.  Lakers had one good game from the bench, and that was win the hog Vujacic hit 20.

4.) Coaching - Doc Rivers is out-coaching one of the greatest coaches ever, Phil Jackson.  For Phil to take out Derek Fisher and Lamar Odom in game 4 was a terrible move.  And allowing a team to lose a 24 point lead and lose the game, and then lost a 20 point lead the next game but luckily win the game is not how you want your coach doing his job.  I know it isn't all on the coach, since it's the players who perform, but Jackson isn't preparing the Lakers enough.

5.) Outcome - Honestly, I think the Celtics got this in 6.  I want the Lakers in 7, but the Celtics just play with way more heart and intensity.  Sorry Kobe.

Last Weeks of School

So as the school year comes to a close, I've been thinking to myself about what has happened.  This year was better for me, for many different reasons.  However these last 3 weeks of school have got to be the most work I have done all year.  HSA's, and then the week after that I get numerous amounts of projects.  2 in English, 2 in Bio, and a mock trial for Government.  And next week there are the finals.  This really annoys me because who has time to do all this work and have a life?  To me, the teachers should have done a better job planning their work and not acting as if they are the only class.  However I am so happy school is about to end!

Minor League Player Traded for 10 Bats...

I couldn't remember this guys name or anything but when I was watching First Take today on ESPN 2 they interviewed a minor league baseball player that was traded for 10 bats...  This is disgraceful.  The guy said he had never even played yet this season, and he didn't even know somebody could get traded for equipment, but he heard of players that got traded for food.  Either this dude is a serious scrub or he gets no respect.  In the interview though, he made humor out of it, which I thought was good instead of being depressed.  However, I think that you shouldn't even be allowed to trade players for equipment, or any other possession.  Seriously, something is wrong with the minor leagues, or major leagues since they own minor league teams.  The front offices need to do something about this because this is down right cruddy!!!

HSAs

So Im finally done with the HSA's!!!  Here's my opinion on them:

--I think that the teachers hyped it up way to much, even thought it does determine if you pass/graduate.  They said there was at least 8 BCRs and 3 ECRs on each, and it wasn't even that much.  Some tests had more than others, but they were all spread out so it didn't really feel like much....and they weren't even hard questions.

--I also think that the time went by faster when I was taking that test than when I sat there trying to sleep for the extra 20 minutes.

--The breaks were too short

--The easiest test was gov't, then English, and then Bio

--The English had the dumbest BCRs and ECRs.  Bio just had harder ones.

Well that's what I think of them.  Hit me up with what you think or just answer that poll question!

Double-amputee Gets to Compete in Olympics

If you haven't heard already, the double-amputee sprinter Oscar Pistorius won the right to compete in the 2008 olympics.
This is a huge topic; people are in favor of it, and others are not. The people in favor of it say that it's only moral right to let him play, or that if he is able to compete against the world-class runners involved in the races, there's no reason why he shouldn't play. However, the people against this decision also have reasons. They could say that it is an unfair advantage since he has prosthetic legs, so he doesn't get tired as easily, and they don't have to go through as much training as able-body competitors. But those are some reasons I have heard on TV and read about this issue. I personally thing that they should allow him to compete. Think about his mindset. He has to motivate himself to actually run, and to not think about what other people say/think. We all know how people can be in this world, especially to disables. I say let him compete, and I'm glad he's getting that opportunity. Let me know what you think, if you agree or disagree.

Reflection

This Saturday I heard Ray Lewis was gonna be up at Dick's to promote those new Under Armour kicks, the new Prototypes, so I had to go.  When he came out, instead of signing autographs, taking pictures with people, and just promoting the shoes, he gave a speech that was more life-changing and made me think about what I was doing.  He was talking about how you must work hard to be great, not good.  He said that good will get you remembered for a short time, but being great is a lot of good things put together, and that will get you remembered for a long time.  If you want something that bad, make it your lifestyle because in order to get something, you must sacrifice another.  Now that got me thinking a lot.  During the school year, I always do my best in the first quarter, not just because it's the easiest, but because I work so hard in soccer, that it just carries over to my school work, and once the season ends and I start to chill and get lazy, my grades get lower.  I realized I'm not putting in the effort to do as well as I can in school because I wasn't putting effort in what needed to be done.  I also realized that I need to get in great shape for varsity this coming season, so I decided that I was going to begin working out hard, and focus more on school that hanging with my friends or wasting my time playing xbox and watching tv as much as I did earlier in the school year.  I think that readers can relate to how I was feeling, so I decided to post it.

Nick Cannon is the man!

For everybody that doesn't know, Nick Cannon married Mariah Carey!  Nick Cannon is a lucky man for this because as we all know, Mariah is fineeee!  And before he got Mariah, last year he was with a Victoria's Secret model.  Big ups!  I'm proud of Nick and Mariah and hopes this lasts for them.

T.I.

T.I., my favorite rapper, as you all know got in legal trouble during the fall.  His sentencing will take place later in the year, but he is on house arrest and must complete 1,000 hours of community service, going around spreading awareness of drugs, violence, and other topics to younglings across America.  Tip said he was blessed with the opportunity.  That may seem like a lot of hours, but he could be in jail for 25 years for getting caught with guns.  However, Cobb County schools won't let T.I. visit their schools to talk about these dangers.  Now how is T.I. supposed to complete his community service hours and spread awareness if he can't talk to teens??  I think this is crazy and Cobb should lighten up a bit.  Not only will this benefit T.I., but teens who look up to their hometown King of the South would listen to what he has to say.  If you feel any differently than I do, feel free to let me know.
Since I'm on the topic of T.I., he has released his first hit from his next album Paper Trail called No Matter What.  I listened to the song and it talks about how he will rise from these bad times and can overcome the adversity.  If you listen close enough, you can hear how he apologizes for what he has done.  Go check the song out!

BME Pain

In school everybody has been telling me about this BME Pain Olympic video and said that it was extremely disgusting and I must watch it.  So I came home today and looked it up on YouTube but all I got were people's reactions to the video, so I googled it.  I found it and I must say it's worse than 2 girls 1 cup....  Now if you really want to see this video, I'll give you the link since it is too horrifying to add on my blog..it's only about 1 1/2 minutes but it will probably be one of the most disgusting minutes of your life.

Ravens' Day 1 Draft

When Ryan was taken by Atlanta at the third pick, I must say that I was a little upset because of the clutch performances he showed his senior year, but when we drafted Joe Flacco, I was relieved since the tape of him is good, most scouts think that he is the second-best QB in the draft, and that we didn't go with Chad Henne...no offense. Now we have a more "pocket-passer" QB in Flacco, a QB that can run in Troy Smith, and kyle boller...
Then when the second round came, I figured that we should try to get a WR to go along with the 3 we have now, since we don't really have a 4th WR, but when I saw Ray Rice, I was ecstatic. I completely forgot about him, but then I remembered how great he was at Rutgers, and figured that him and McGahee can possibly form a two-headed monster like the one that the Jags have...just a thought. And also, we chose two players that can come in and have an immediate impact on offense, which is where we struggle the most. For the rest of the rounds, I think we should get a WR, a CB, and a S....maybe another offensive lineman since Ogden's future is unknown.

4/20

Today is the day for all the blunt heads to get smacked!  It's Bob Marley's birthday and everyone knows how much he was on it... So I thought I'd make a post about this day for pot smokers.  I found this video on YouTube about this old guy explaining the meaning of 4/20 on the news and thought that this person's view was a little different than what I know of 4/20.  Just watch as he calls it, "a day of peace"

Retirements

Today was the second retirement of a potential Hall of Fame quarterback this offseason, Steve McNair. I really wouldn't care about this, except for the fact that he played for the Ravens the past two years, my favorite NFL team. Steve McNair was excellent his first year here, leading us to a 13-3 record, but last year he was injured and played only 6 games. He was co-MVP one year, and went to 3 Pro Bowls, a Super Bowl, and passed important records. He came out of Alcorn State and played 13 years, being a leader and was very agressive, playing through injury.

Now since I mentioned the retirement of Steve McNair, I feel like I should mention the retirement that happened earlier this month about one of the best quarterbacks ever; Brett Favre. This quarterback broke every single significant record there is for a quarterback to pass, like touchdowns, passing yards, games started, ect. He has a Super Bowl ring and is going to be in the Hall of Fame on his first ballot, no doubt. Favre can still play, but he said he wasn't able to mentally. The Packers are going to have a hard time replacing him, but will have his jersey retired opening game of their season, on Monday Night Football.

Naked Vlog on YouTube!!

This guy named chris3ff is trying to start making people on youtube actually vlog naked. It's insane!! The rules are that you vlog naked and then tag 3 other people to vlog naked too...just any random people. I think it's a crazy idea and probably wouldn't do it...unless someone put some serious cash up (not tryin to sound like a man-whore!) Here's the first vlog and another naked vlog that came up which was a little weird.

T.I. new song

A new T.I. song was leaked, but not by T.I. The song is called Hunt 'Em Down and is about getting revenge on the killers of his bestfriend Philant Johnson. He said that the song wasn't supposed to be released and it won't be on his next album, Paper Trail. Even though it wasn't supposed to be released, it's still pretty nice.

New addition

As you can see, I have a new section on my blog called Pic of the Week. This is gonna be a section where I pick a picture of the past week or night, make a caption, and put it on my blog. This picture is probly gonna be something important to me, or something that made an impact on a lot of people. If you want any requests for a pic, hit me up!

Capitals

I love this time of the year. You have March Madness, the NBA playoffs, and now the NHL playoffs....yes the NHL. I'm not the biggest hockey fan but I used to watch the Capitals all the time until they began to suck wind over and over. Then around christmas, the Caps started doing real good and over the past few weeks I've started to watch em since they were playing for a playoff spot. Now last night they won their division and are 3rd seed in the east after being last place in the east, and it's mostly because of the soon-to-be MVP of the league, Alexander Ovechkin.

This man has 65 goals, most of any player of his position ever, and most goals this season, and he's also the leading player in points with 112. He is too nice and the best player in the league. If yall don't know about him or the Caps, check em out when the playoffs start real soon.

Tragic Ending...

For me, yesterday went from great to miserable....

First the day starts out great. I got a B on my math test (have failed like every test since the 2nd quarter), I got an A in government, I started my offseason workouts for soccer, and everything was going good. As I'm starting to eat I turn on the Wizards game and hear the Arenas dressed. He comes in the game, and went 5-7 with 17 points in only 20 minutes! I was going crazy!! But then everything started going bad. The Wiz blew an 11 point lead and had the lead by 1 with about 16 seconds left. We force a jump ball and win it but we turn it over and then with about 6 seconds left we get a steal and Jamison throws it down the court but somehow the Bucks got the ball with 1 second left..and on that same play Jamison and Stevenson both got hurt. And then we all know what happens....a guy from the d-league hits the game winning shot. I was sitting there in shock. How does this happen!! The only good thing is that we're still in 5th place but that's about it since Stevenson has a sprained ankle and Jamison is also hurt.

What a terrible way to end a great day...

Arenas is staying!!

I am pumped! I was watchin the Wizards game last night against the lakers, and they showed Gilbert Arenas being interviewed. He said he wants the Wizards to sign Jamison first, and then sign him and he would take a pay cut! He said that him and Jamison have been playing almost his whole career and they have great chemistry and he doesn't want to ruin what the Wiz have going on right now. So Arenas is staying in D.C. and by taking the pay cut (if there will be one) allowing Jamison to stay too. Just wait until we're healthy!!

O yes, I must add that I will be at the Wizards game next wednesday against the celtics. Section 101 behind the Wiz bench! Look for me on tv!

New Name

Got the new name! People were tellin me names but I wasn't really feelin it, and Kwasi said some name I couldn't even understand like "the jjonescabloga" or something rediculous like that. I chose the name The Jones Effect since I know blogs can have some effect on the way people think.

Kwasi and my blog
Now, back to Kwasi...he is seriously trying to get on my blog! Now instead of being a bracketologist, he wants to be some NFL scout expert. I don't really feel like having a partner, cuz I like things done my own way and if he wants a spot on a blog, he should make his own...feel me? But Ima let the readers decide whether or not I should let Kwasi get a spot on the blog, so just hit me up anyway you want. Lemme know how you like the new name too.

Arenas frying Duke!!!
Yesterday I was reading the new post on Gilbert Arenas's blog, and he started talking about the NCAA tournament as he was discussing how all the gyms in the Verizon Center were being used for it. Then he brought up Duke...Now I'm assuming he hates Duke since, besides the fact that everyone that isn't a Duke fan does, Coack K cut him from the USA team. Arenas started saying how badly Duke was gettin killed, and I thought it was HILARIOUS. I hate Duke, since I'm a Terps fan, and I was happy they lost in the 2nd round, except that it ruined my bracket...but I'm still in 2nd place, only 1 game behind Ratliffe. Now if you haven't already, you should check Gilbert's blog. I have the link under my FAVS section, first one. Ima give you the link to the post where he fries Duke...it's the 4th paragraph and a must see!

Changin the name...

K so as you probly can already see, I changed the name of my blog from The J Spot to Who? J Jones! I was really bored about 5 minutes ago so I decided to look up my blog on google, and everything that was coming up was about sex...and I'm not tryin to look like some sex freak or anything so I felt like I had to change the name ASAP. I'm not really feelin the name right now cuz it's too similar to Mike Jones' punchline so if you got a real good name in mind, leave me a comment and lemme know so I can change it. You'll also get mad props and a spot on the post that announces it. THANKS!

Just like football.....

So this NCAA tourney is just like the college football season this year....UPSETS!!! It's great to see all the upsets, but this is seriously killin my bracket. Now in the ESPN pool that I'm doing for money, I'm only one game out of first place, but it's terrible. Each day teams I have going far lose...such as Duke and Pitt (had them in the Elite 8) and Notre Dame (Sweet 16). And Vandy lost to SIENA by 20!!!!!! Uconn lost to SD and I had them in the Elite 8. I also had Georgetown in the Elite 8 and they lost today to Davidson cuz that man in the picture, Stephen Curry, is just too nasty. In the first round he scored 40 and today he had 25 with 20 of his pts in the 2nd half!! That's clutch..and he's only a sophomore. O well, Texas is still winning it all over Kansas in a close game and I'm gonna win my bracket.

O yea, I have a new edition to my blog for March Madness... Kwasi is now my "bracketologist" and he said that Tennessee is going to win it all but they're losing in the Elite 8 to UNC...sorry Kwasi.

WeMix

Luda is takin something from Diddy's book, and he's trying to help aspiring artists get to the top. I love it!! He launched a site called WeMix and it's a site where you can upload your songs, and people can rate you. If you get enough people that like you, you have a chance to be on the tv show that is coming up for this. Now Luda, being a rapper, took a pretty big step and said that your music can be any type; hip-hop, r&b, rock, techno, and country. Artists get to work with other artists to try to become the best and get a huge record label. This is like MTB but for solo artists, and the viewers have more control. Yall should check the site out, and if you tryna get big, sign up!

#1 Pryor A Buckeye

Ok, so the #1 QB in America on the high school level chose today to sign with the Ohio State Buckeyes. He's from PA, and he passed going to other big colleges like Michigan and Oregon. I tihnk going with the Buckeyes was a good idea, because they're a strong team and have way more potential than Michigan, and Oregon couldn't win without Dennis Dixon. Now I know I did a post over a month ago on recruiting for football, but this man kept his mouth shut until his school's basketball season was over, which I respect. It keeps away from all the attention and it could keep his focus on basketball, not on his next school..feel me? For all the people that don't know, this man is an all around athlete. He plays quarterback (can throw the ball and run like the former Buckeye, now Raven Troy Smith) and plays basketball, leading his school to PA State Champs in both sports in the same year. That's some straight dominance. He's 6'6', 230, so he has a bright future ahead of him. For all those college football fans, watch out for Terrelle Pryor!

HUGE Weekend

So this weekend was intense like no other in a while...atleast for me. So it all started off by the beginning of spring break!!! I know everyone is pumped for that one. The State playoffs went down in College Park but sadly we came up 2nd...but hey atleast LR got a trophy and are county and regional champs! Big ups to yall ballers. More on that sports topic, Wizards won in a close game in OT, Houston got 22 wins straight, and today was Selection Sunday. I'm real pissed that MD didn't win the games they needed to, but we a young team. I got my bracket filled out for facebook and espn (if anyone wants to join, hit me up on facebook or leave a comment and i'll get you the info for the espn pool we're doin) but yall can't see me! I got like 3 straight wins. Just incase yall were wondering, Notre Dame is gonna beat UNC and Texas is winnin it all. O yea, props to UMBC for gettin that 1st time selection to the big dance! I gotta show them love, they local.

But also today, my cousins from Cali came here so I saw them. We went out to eat and then my mom drove me and naysha over to the mall and she bought me some clothes. Got some shades, an Ed Hardy shirt and an Ed Hardy hat. Now I know in an earlier post I don't rock Ed Hardy, and I really don't. This is my only outfit for Ed Hardy, and it's only cause there were no good Affliction outfits in Nordstroms.
But no matter what, this weekend was crazy.

College Mail

I know everyones been gettin those college emails and letters, and I know it's pissin people off cuz so much is comin every damn day. But I got this magazine with all these colleges that really appealed to me. Some of them had good business classes which is one major I'm considerin since I don't really know what I want to do, and they all had D-1 and D-2 soccer which is what I'm tryin to make when I graduate. One college was Loyola up in Baltimore and that was one that really stuck out since it's local (cheaper cost), D-1 soccer, and a business major program. I'm also gettin stuff from Hawaii-Pacific, Miami (really tryin to get in contact more with that school) and Georgia Tech, but I'm not really sure. If yall got any ideas for help or just wanna let me know bout your situation, feel free to holla!

The Competition is Crucial

Today, hella hip-hop artists dropped albums, such as Fat Joe, Rick Ross, and Snoop Dogg. Fat Joe's new album, The Elephant in The Room, has featured artists like Lil Wayne, J. Holiday, and Plies. Rick Ross's new album Trilla contains the hit "The Boss" ft. T-Pain, and has Lil Wayne, DJ Khaled (who is in every damn song), Nelly, Jeezy, and more. Ego Trippin' by Snoop Dogg was also released today with that song that almost everyone is diggin, "Sexual Eruption". Hurricane Chris also dropped an album but I don't listen to him so I don't really know much about it. I'm probly gonna check out the Rick Ross album first since he's my fav. outta all of these artists, but go listen for yaself!

Day 26

So the boys from Making The Band 4, Robert, Q, Big Mike, Brian, and Willie, finally came up with a name for their band; Day 26. I really got no clue why it's called that, but maybe cuz their debut album is hittin stores March 26. They also got a new hit out, Got Me Going. The song is real nice. Yall should go check it out, preorder that album or just wait and buy it before it sells out, or just download it. I'm not diggin how Diddy announced all this, and they came out with a single now, cuz it's takin all the suspense away from the show. You already know they got an album coming out so all the drama really isn't gonna affect anything. And Diddy dropped the news about Danity Kane's album droppin in a few days. But it's all good cuz they're both real talented and nice, so just check it out. Lemme know how yall feel about it if you want, but just kick back n jam to it.

Jae Millz Now on Young Money

If you don't know who Jae Millz is by now, you should check him out. And if you don't want to, you'll probly hear him soon, as he just signed with Lil Wayne's Young Money. This is good for Lil Wayne because Jae Millz is has nice flow. He's also called an underground legend. They got a remix coming out in 2 weeks, "Holla At A Playa Remix" so be on the lookout for that one. And you know I hadda get this pic of Jae Millz in that Capitals jersey ha.

If any of you want the link Ima give it to you at the bottom of this post so you can check it out.

Dipset

So I'm gonna take a break from the sports talk for a lil, and focus on more recent news and upcoming stuff that people might care about. Now as you can tell by the title and the pic, this post is gonna focus about Dipset. Now well all know that Juelz Santana hasn't really been in the game lately since that hit album "What the Game's Been Missing!" and you'd expect something by now, especially cuz it's Dipset we're talkin about. But it's been a while and that much-anticipated album with Lil' Wayne "I Can't Feel My Face" still hasn't come out yet. Now, word is that Juelz is blaming this "delay" on his relationship between him and Cam'ron. He said him and Cam aren't on the same page and its affecting the album. Now they better get that relationship back on good status cuz I'm a fan of Juelz and think his music is hot.

Now on the same record label, Jim Jones came out with a new music video off his new mixtape album "Harlem's American Gangster". I haven't really gotten around to it yet, but I saw his new video on YouTube from the mixtape, and I was diggin the hit. But I was not diggin this style that he was rockin. I know people down in the MIA and other places rock this, but I'm not feelin it. He was rockin a scarf on his head, kinda lookin like a hood. Ima give you the link to the video, and just watch for urself. He's rockin it in like the 1st minute of the video. If you feel like it, just lemme know what you think about it. But listen to the song too cuz it's nice.
>> Love Me No More <<

oh no.....

Mike Jones came out with a new shoe on a deal from Reebok. This shoe looks like most of the other Reeboks you see anywhere else. I don't even know why he decided to make a shoe like this, but atleast he's trying.

But I've been hearing that Lil Wayne, Mike Jones, and Lupe Fiasco are gonna team up and make shoes together for the Reebok OG Collection. I wanna see what those look like, cause they all got good taste.

810 who?

So earlier I was on DatPiff lookin at mixtapes, and I saw this mixtape that came out a few weeks ago by some guy 810 from Baltimore and T.I. I thought it was gonna be nice but this man is just takin old T.I. songs and basically tryin to compare it to his songs. Not feelin it. I know hes from Baltimore and everything, but I'm just not feelin it.

Now on the other hand, a new mixtape with T.I. in it came out last week and its hot! Rick Ross, Young Jeezy, Lil Wayne and many others are on this. Check it out!

The Banana Drought

So Weezy dropped a new mixtape called The Banana Drought last month, and I found it on www.datpiff.com. The mixtape is pretty nice, xcept for a few songs that those lil naked brotherband dudes are in, but for the most part it's something i downloaded. I think you guys should go check it out. Weezy brings the fire in this one.

That Reach Boy!

So LR Varsity Basketball is hittin up that county championship game boy!!! We beat Marriots Ridge Thursday night in a blowout (somehow they were ranked in the state) and then that night howard lost to river hill to spoil the upset for them. All we needed to do today was win and we'd be goin to the ship to play Atholton. We won today by 2 in OT at home playin river hill and most definitely had to overcome some struggles, as they had this ref callin all the calls their way. That ref was some sauce!! He was doin the same thing durin that JV game too. But it's all good because won got that W and my man Jared got moved up to Varsity for the playoffs, n so did Chase! Im very pumped and now all you gotta do is hit up that game tuesday up at Atholton! Wear that purp boy!

Weclome Back Kidd!

Although Jason Kidd isn't this young anymore, he's back in that Dallas jersey. The Mavs got the Kidd from an 8-player trade:

To the Mavericks:
  1. Jason Kidd, G
  2. Malik Allen, F
  3. Antoine Wright, Swingman
To the Nets:
  1. Devin Harris, G
  2. DeSagana Diop, C
  3. Trenton Hassel, Swingman
  4. Maurice Ager, G
  5. Keith Van Horn, F
  6. 2 First Round Draft Picks
  7. $300 Million
My opinion on this trade varies, as I think that the Mavs gave up way to much to get Kidd, even though he is a proven PG and is a triple-double machine, and they now have a loss of depth. Every great team in the West has one thing in common, a big man. Now all the Mavs have is Erick Dampier, and no backup center. They have hella fowards, and now good guards with good depth at that position, but my only concern for them is the lack of depth at the big man position. I also think that the $300 million was not needed for this to happen, and only 1 first round draft pick. This makes the Nets look greedy and the Mavs desperate.

I think that the Nets did good, landing an excellent, up-and-coming PG in Devin Harris, who is extremely fast and has a lot of potential. They also get a good center in Diop, and an improved bench. The money can help with contracts or whatever they want, and the 2 first round draft picks can get them young, talented athletes from college. In the long run, I think this trade is gonna benefit the Nets more, but for now, it's gonna help the Mavs.

Super Dwight!

So last night was the All-Star dunk contest, and it definitely brought the swag back to that great contest. The four contestants were: Rudy Gay (Grizzlies), Dwight Howard (Magic), Gerald Green (T-wolves), and Jamario Moon (Raptors). I had my money on Moon, since he used to be a Globetrotter and I've seen crazy footage on him. I don't think Gerald Green is that original, and Rudy Gay hasn't proven much in the NBA, too me, yet. Unfortunately for me, Moon got out in the first round wit Rudy Gay. The final round was crazy, as you can see Dwight Howard put on a superman costume and flew! But he didn't even dunk it!!! He threw it into the hoop and still got a high-ass score!!! But his final dunk was insane...he "ooped" it to himself and then bounced the ball back off the backboard like a yo-yo, caught it and dunked that shit! I was like "what the fuck just happened?!" Once he nailed that dunk, I knew he won, cuz once again, Gerald Green isn't as original as other players. I thought this contest was one of the best I've seen in a while, and I can't wait for next years.

Jordan XX3!!

So these are the new Jordan XX3 comin out later this month. I'm not sure if I like the black or the gray one shown in this picture, but I'm most deff. diggin the white ones. That shoe looks pretty nice! I'm just hopin that most people aren't gonna go straight out and get the white ones, cuz I am BROKE! So unless anyone is tryna lend somebody some serious $$$, I'm probly gonna have to wait a while. However I do got like $30 in cash and $40 in some Dick's giftcards....so like $100 more would be nice. Lemme know what you think bout these shoes!!

BARACK!

So Barack Obama swept the Chesapeake Primary yesterday (MD, DC, VA) on the democrat side for all you people that didn't know...Barack Obama now has 1,215 delegates, just a few more than Clinton (1,190) and John Edwards who dropped out has 26...even tho he doesn't really count anymore. To win for the democrats, you need 2,025 delegates. That democratic race is gonna be CLOSE! I know last night Barack was cheesin like this!

What's wrong with the Wizards?!

So the Wizards are on this terrible 8 game losing streak, with injuries to Arenas, Butler, and Daniels. This mess is horrible. Some losses I expected, but the game last night against the Warriors just really heats me and that's why I'm posting a blog about this.... WE HAD THE LEAD BY 23 AND LOST BY 3!!!! I know that Golden State is the 2nd best scoring team in the NBA, but come on now, you can hold Boston, with all 3 all-stars playing, to 85 points and make a comeback, but you can't secure a 23 point lead?? That's horrible. I know not having Caron playing is a huge defensive loss, but Blatche can play good D, Haywood can play good D, Stevenson has good D (even with his sore knee). WHAT HAPPENED TO THAT DEFENSE WE HAD EARLIER IN THE YEAR WHEN WE WERE PLAYING GREAT?! We have great players on this team and we just can't win! This just infuriates me because we we're 4th in the East, and now we are below .500 and somehow still in the 6th spot. Good thing this isn't the West, because they have teams like 6 games over .500 and aren't even in a playoff seed! I really don't understand how we lost that game last night, but we really need to turn things around....SOON! I felt like Gilbert in this picture last night...it's just sad.

Primary Tomorrow!

So tomorrow is the Primary in Maryland, so that means we have no school. While most people who read this probably can't vote, you should think about who you would vote for and why. Now we had a fake primary today at LR and I know hella people voted...I just would like to know who'd you vote for...just to see. I would vote for Barack Obama, because:
  1. I think like a democrat.
  2. I agree with what Obama stands for.
  3. Hillary is getting her husband in this too much.
  4. The republicans are spending too much money on a war we shouldn't be in.
  5. We have a republican president now, and our nation has turned into shit.
  6. Obama can create a better change for us.

That's just how I feel...you can leave me some comments if you want about it telling me your opinion on this.

I asked one of my teachers, not gonna put her name out, who she would vote for. She told me that she was a republican (very hard to believe when you meet/see her) but she wasn't sure who to vote for. When I told her to vote for Barack Obama, she pulled the race card out and said "Is it cuz I'm black?" I thought "No you dumb ignorant hoe" but I kept that to myself. She said if one of the republicans won that she didn't agree with, she would hope that the Democrat nominee wouldn't be Hillary Clinton because if Bill got back into office, he'd make it a whorehouse. I thought that comment was rude, but hilarious because it was so random and unexpected. I mean, you ask a teacher her opinion and she gets all worked up for no reason and says something like that. I'm still not gonna put her name out there like that, but I thought you guys would like to laugh at something.

iTouch or iPhone?

Alright, so hella people are going crazy about the new iTouch. Yes, it has excellent features, such as touch screen, internet, music player, video player, and pictures. Now if you were going to waste your money on this, why not spend the extra $100 to get an iPhone. It has all the same features as the iTouch, but it's also a phone. Now I know some people don't want to make a plan with Cingular to buy it, but people switch their plans, or create a new plan just to get the Sidekick (whichever one) and then everybody has one by the end of the week. At least use your money better and get a phone with more features, and a phone that not as many people have. It's the same price, $399. I know the Sidekick LX is nice, but it doesn't have all the great features that the iPhone has. Just think about it...which makes more sense? I'm not the biggest fan of the iPhone because, after a while, the touch screen gets extremely dirty and annoying...not fresh. But I'm just sayin, use that cash wiser....just not on that Blackjack 2 ;-P

MySpace Tryna Upgrade?!

Ok, so today was the first time I actually went on my MySpace in like 2 months just to see if I had anything, and I see all these new features, such as tagging a friend in a picture, news feed, and other applications that Facebook is known for. I guess Tom was getting upset with the fact that everybody kept leaving MySpace to go to Facebook? Who knows...all I know is that he's tryna swag Facebook and get popular again. I remember when MySpace was the coolest thing to get on, and then Facebook started getting popular and everybody forgot about MySpace. Now Tom is over here tryna get MySpace popular again....NOT WORKING! Tell me what you think about it to see if anybody agrees with me or not.

New Shaq in the Desert?

By now, everybody should know about Shaq getting traded to the Suns for Shawn Marion. This trade is crazy! Why would you trade one of your best players for a center that is in his mid-30s and is injured all the time!? You already have one of the best centers in the game in Amare Stoudemire, so why go and get another and have a big man lineup on a fast-break team? Shaq is old and slow, out of his prime, and doesn't play in the style that the Suns play in. He can still be effective, but I don't know how long he can last in a running up/down style of offense.

Now Shaq has pledged that he can help the Suns get over "the hump", but how long is it gonna take? Who knows how much Shaq has left in him...It took him 2 seasons to get a championship in Miami, but he was younger, and him and Dwayne Wade weren't always injured. You can't forget that they played in the East. Now that he has been injured most of the season and a good part of last season, can his legs still hold up to compete in the Wild West, especially now that the Lakers have stocked up with Gasol and the Spurs got Mighty Mouse? Everything should unfold soon, as Shaq has said he might play tomorrow against the Wizards, but who knows. Right now I have the Lakers winning the West if Bynum comes back, since Kobe and Gasol are tearing it up right now. If this trade works for the Suns however, there is a good chance you will see the Suns and the Lakers possibly competing in the West Championship game. But for now, all you can do it wait!

Affliction

Look, I know people walk around rockin some nice ass clothes like Ed Hardy and those other brands, but I rarely see anyone rockin some Affliction clothing. Yea I rock Hollister and Famous too, but I'm startin to upgrade my wardrobe to some of this since I dont really see anyone rockin it around here. I might be wrong but until I start seein some constant Affliction goin around, don't try to cop it lol. I'm not tryna fry on anybody bout their style, I'm just lettin yall know what Ima start rockin soon...

Freshman/Sophomore Bball Game

Iight so today there was a game during the Renaissance program between the freshmen at LRHS and the Sophomores of LRHS. It was hosted by 4-5 Terps Football players (starters) and by 92.Q. It was most deff. the place to be. Us sophomores didn't have a lot of good talent on our squad, only about 4 good people signed up, one being myself. The freshmen had hella people sign up and took a 6-2 lead after the 1st (very low scoring quarter). Then in the second our horrible squad went up and the deficit grew even bigger. Around the middle of the 2nd the starting 5 went back in and dominated and the rest is history. I only had 2 points but i wasn't even tryna score. I had hella dimes, boards, n steals tho but most of it was just funny. Some kids we're straight garbage. When you got some fat, tall asian kid runnin the 1, and he can barely even dribble, you know ur not even gonna try to put straps on him...or some short kid that always fell! I did block their tallest player but it wasn't some huge block...just hit the ball back in his body when he went to shoot a layup. We got free black tees and got to miss the last hour of school. If you weren't there, you missed out boy!

Terps Recruits

Today was the first day of the college national signing period, and the Maryland Terps landed some huge names. They got 5 All-Americans and 13 All-States. 7 of these signings were by 4 star recruits. This is huge for the Terps football program. 16 of the 18 recruits were in the top 100 at their positions and 7 of them ranked in the top 25. The Terps landed 4 of the top 11 recruits in the state, according to rivals.com We got a local recruit, Cody Blue from Wilde Lake High, and Kenny Tate, WR, from Dematha High School, who is considered to be the best WR in school history. With these recruits, the Terps are about to make some big noise in the ACC. Fear the Turtle!

First Time

This is my first time makin a blog so bere with me if it seems like I dont know what I'm doing.
I got the idea from my favorite NBA player, Gilbert Arenas, and thought 'Hey, I should make one too!'...so here it is!

Now on that topic of the NBA, everybody knows and has heard about the NBA All-Star game and everything to do with it. I'm cool with the selections, but I can't find myself a Caron Butler or Antawn Jamison all-star jersey!. If you couldn't tell by now, I'm a huge fan of the Washington Wizards, and I'd like to rep my team. Now how am I supposed to do that when I cant find an all-star jersey for the Wizards all-stars this season. I got the normal jerseys that every other Wizard fan has, but I wanna be noticed when I'm at a game or somewhere else rockin an all-star jersey, no what I'm sayin?

If anyone can find one of these all-star jerseys before I let it be known if I do find one, just leave me a comment and let me know where you found it so I can get myself one too. Ty
