Weclome Back Kidd!

Although Jason Kidd isn't this young anymore, he's back in that Dallas jersey. The Mavs got the Kidd from an 8-player trade:

To the Mavericks:
  1. Jason Kidd, G
  2. Malik Allen, F
  3. Antoine Wright, Swingman
To the Nets:
  1. Devin Harris, G
  2. DeSagana Diop, C
  3. Trenton Hassel, Swingman
  4. Maurice Ager, G
  5. Keith Van Horn, F
  6. 2 First Round Draft Picks
  7. $300 Million
My opinion on this trade varies, as I think that the Mavs gave up way to much to get Kidd, even though he is a proven PG and is a triple-double machine, and they now have a loss of depth. Every great team in the West has one thing in common, a big man. Now all the Mavs have is Erick Dampier, and no backup center. They have hella fowards, and now good guards with good depth at that position, but my only concern for them is the lack of depth at the big man position. I also think that the $300 million was not needed for this to happen, and only 1 first round draft pick. This makes the Nets look greedy and the Mavs desperate.

I think that the Nets did good, landing an excellent, up-and-coming PG in Devin Harris, who is extremely fast and has a lot of potential. They also get a good center in Diop, and an improved bench. The money can help with contracts or whatever they want, and the 2 first round draft picks can get them young, talented athletes from college. In the long run, I think this trade is gonna benefit the Nets more, but for now, it's gonna help the Mavs.
