Double-Double

Gilbert Arenas stayed true to his word and came back to the court Saturday night against the Detroit Pistons. Although the Wizards lost 98-96, Gilbert Arenas had a very good game. He scored 15 points and had 10 assists. Arenas took part in the team's first 11 points, as he had the first 4 assists and hit a three. Arenas had a chance to tie the game or even win the game for the Wiz, but the shot go "blocked" by Kwame Brown... I personally think that Arenas was fouled because Kwame Brown fell on him. It's whatever though because the season is done for the Wizards and the more losses the team accumulates, the higher percentage chance they get for getting the first pick. Blake Griffin is the likely number one pick, that is, if he comes out of college. The Wizards need atleast one more big man, but most importantly the team needs to be healthy. They've played most of the season with two starters, Antawn Jamison and Caron Butler. With a healthy line-up and a solid pick in the draft, expect big things next year from the Wizards.

T.I. Gets Two More Months

At his court sentence Friday, T.I. learned that he will have one to two months extra time before he has to appear in jail. Now although I do not know exactly why his 366 day sentencing to prison was delayed, I can bet that T.I. is somewhat relieved. He can almost finish his community service hours, which will be a major part of the sentence he received. He only needs about 450 more hours, as he has a little over 1,000 hours right now. A lot of those hours came from the TV show on MTV, T.I.'s Road to Redemption, where he went to troubled teams and showed them the horrors of drug dealing and being in gangs. The show was really powerful and changed a lot of the lives of the teens he helped out. Also, T.I. will be able to spend a few more weeks with his family, and hopefully make a new song...but I doubt that.

Coming Back?

Now I know there are only a few games left in the NBA regular season, but it's never too late to come back. There is a very high possibility that Gilbert Arenas will be back Saturday against Detroit. Even though the team has the second worst record in the NBA and there are only a few games left, I think it is a good decision. Let the team, fans, and rest of the league see where he is at right now with his game after having a third surgery and going through extensive rehab the whole season. Arenas has been allowed to participate in full-practices with the team for a short time now, and I think that this move shows the love he has for the game and the city/fans of D.C.

March Madness Time!

This tournament is about to be so crazy, I got 4 brackets for all my different possibilities, and maybe another one on the way. My favorite team Maryland pulled it through and got the tenth seed in the West Region. They play Cal (7) Thursday at 2:55. I'm pretty confident that the Terps win that game, but I'm not so sure about Memphis. They have a lot of speed and are just a solid all-around team surprisingly, since this team is very different from last year's runner-up. I can see it going any way, since Maryland is so inconsistent.
Now for my Final Fours. In one of my ESPN brackets, I have Memphis, Kansas, UNC and Pitt, with Kansas winning that one, mainly because of Sherron Collins. In my other ESPN bracket, I have Oklahoma, Pitt, Louisville, and UConn, Oklahoma winning it all. That is, if Blake Griffin is healthy and the guards play as best as they can. Now to the Facebook brackets. I have two brackets on here, and in on of them, I see the Final Four as Kansas, UConn, Pitt and UNC, with UNC winning the whole thing. My last bracket, for now, has Pitt, Oklahoma, Kansas and UConn, with UConn and Pitt meeting in the final. I can see Pittsburgh winning it all if this happens, because they clearly have an edge on UConn. Their only problem is, they go as far as DeJaun Blair. They better hope he doesn't get into foul trouble.
Those are all the possibilites that I can see right now. And for the record, Duke will lose to Nova in the second round.

T.I. Squashes Beef

Recenty, T.I. put the beef between himself and Shawty Lo in the past. As he was performing in one of his final shows, before serving his sentence in jail, he brought Shawty Lo to the stage, and announced the compainionship between the two.
If you follow hip-hop, you should know about the beef these two had. They got at each other on hits and albums, calling each other bluffs. The two rappers eventually worked things out, and are now cool. Maybe they'll make a hit?

Another piece of information about T.I. : He is working on a collaboration with Dr. Dre! This album will be nice. Look out for it.

Ravens' Free Agency So Far

So as of Friday, February 27, NFL Free Agency began. I'm not going to talk about every team, but just the Baltimore Ravens and the teams that have a connection to them because of Free Agency.

Let me start out with the good:
The Ravens kept Terrell Suggs, even though they had to franchise tag him to do it. They also signed Domonique Foxworth to a 4 year deal. If the name sounds familiar to some, it's because he played football at the University of Maryland. And since nobody signed Ray Lewis and gave him the deal he thought he would get, he is probably returning, which is a huge plus.

Now to the bad:
The Ravens released Chris McAlister. He has been on the Ravens for almost this whole decade, and is a pro-bowl player. However, in recent years he has been injury plagued, limiting his performance.

Another hit was the loss of Bart Scott. This really fired me up when he left for the Jets. Now I know he got more money and one more year on the contract, and he told reporters how he wanted to be the leader, not follow a leader (Ray Lewis), but he has a better chance of playing in the Super Bowl with the Ravens than the Jets. And I'm not just saying this because I'm just a Ravens fan, but it's the truth. Our defense is better than theirs, clearly, and our offense is up-and-coming. The Jets' offense...not so much. No quarterback, no wide receiver, Coles was just released, only two runnig backs. Have a good time with your money Bart! On Sundays, you won't get to watch much on the sideline.

Jason Brown, a young center, also left the Ravens for the RAMS. Look, I know that the Ravens could not have resigned every player from last year, nor did I want them too. I'm not even sure if we offered Jason Brown a contract. But if we did, I think you can take a few less million to be on a winning team than on a team that won 2 games last year. And then he wants to go and rip our offense from a few years ago? YOU SIGNED WITH A TEAM THAT HAS A WASHED UP WIDE RECEIVER AND QUARTERBACK!!! Steven Jackson is injured quite often, and the whole team is just horrible period. Coaches are in and out, fans don't attend games...WHY WOULD SOMEBODY WANT TO PLAY THERE?!?!?! It makes no sense to me.

Finally, Samari Rolle now wants out. This is because he feels the Ravens do not want him on the team and he wants to be a starter. I feel that he can start with Foxworth, and Fabian Washington can be the nickle, or Samari Rolle can man up and be the nickle. This whole situation for the Ravens' Free Agency is really just frustrating.
