Raven's Training Camp

As you all know, I am a huge Baltimore Ravens fan. Luckily, my mom took off of work and took me to the Ravens' Training Camp up at McDaniel College in Westminster, MD. It was great. I saw the team work out and saw the new staff. Troy Smith looked very good, as well as Joe Flacco. We all know about Kyle Boller... Ray Rice looked real good too. Derrick Mason was putting the moves on, and Mark Clayton was just burning everybody. When it came time for autographs, I bought a Ravens' seat cushion for the players to sign. Sadly, I only got 3 autographs; Dan Cody, Kelly Gregg, and former boxer and rookie SS Tom Zbikowski. I was right infront of Troy Smith, and the man didn't sign my cushion. I was blown because I've been a big fan since his days at Ohio State..before his big year. I saw the greats on the team however, and it was a lot of fun.

My Dark Knight Review

So I just got home from watching The Dark Knight, and to me, as I predicted, it was excellent.  To me, this is the best Batman movie ever.  There were so many twists to the movie, and it made the overall plot very good.  The writer for this movie is incredible.  I know I wouldn't be able to write a Batman movie period, and he did the best one yet.  As far as the actors,  Christian Bale and Morgan Freeman did an excellent job as they always do, but to me, Heath Ledger was the stand-out actor.  He should win an Oscar for this movie.  He played the Joker very well, and gave him a new style.  His acting was amazing.  This is his best job as an actor.  I recommend that everybody see this movie, and I cannot wait for the 3rd one.

This Past Weekend

So this past weekend a few things happened that I wanted to write about.
1.) Rehoboth Beach
2.) Guitar Hero
3.) Manhunt

Rehoboth Beach
This was my second time to Rehoboth, and personally, I don't recommend it, at all.  When you get into the water, it's cold as usual for a beach in the mid-atlantic, and there are shells and tiny rocks on the sand for about the first 10 feet in that real hurt your feet.  It wasn't a pleasant experience.  Also, the boardwalk is mostly for little kids.  Racing games and shooting games are always fun, but there were just a lot of toddlers running around.  There is about two things that I liked there, the Hooters, you might have seen the pic from last year, and Thrashers Fries.  These fries were some of the best fries I have ever had.  They didn't need ketchup, just a little more salt than is already on there.  If you go to Rehoboth, you must stop by.  There are two on the boardwalk on Brooklyn Ave.

Guitar Hero
To be perfectly honest, I used to hate this game.  I was terrible, don't like rock music, and thought it was stupid.  But over the weekend, at nights I would play this game, since my best friend has it, and had fun.  I was doing terrible, which is a main reason why I hated it, but I started to get better and now I want to go buy it myself.  I don't know if I want the new one because I don't want to play songs from the same artist over and over...I might just wait until Guitar Hero 4 comes out.

Manhunt
I only have one thing to say about the game of manhunt I played.  I got very tired and I'm out of shape.  This is not good for soccer, which is why I'm going to conditioning from now on.

T.I. Drops New Single

Most of yall should know about T.I.'s single No Matter What by now, as it was leaked a while before the video was made, and now he has a new single; Swing Ya Rag ft. Swizz Beatz.  I love this song.  The beat is nice and it's just T.I. doin' his thing.  It's the second song released of his upcoming album Paper Trail.

The Dark Knight

I can honestly say that the newest Batman movie, The Dark Knight, looks to be the best movie this year.  Batman Begins, which came out a few years back, was a great Batman movie.  It was very different from the other Batman movies, in how Gotham was portrayed, and other small details.  The Dark Knight is the sequel to that movie, and it has very high reviews.  Everybody knows that the Joker is one of Batman's best enemies.  This movie has the Joker, who is portrayed very differently than people are used to, and introduces Harvey Dent, who later becomes Two-Face.  This movie has a lot to do with restoring order in Gotham and how Joker tries to disrupt that order.  The trailers show a lot of action, and I cannot wait to see it.

The Team That Won't Be...

Sadly, there is a 99.9% chance that this team I am about to suggest won't actually become a team.  During this offseason for the NBA, there is a free agent that has 2 championship rings in the past 3 years; James Posey.  I'm not praising this man or anything, but he has great experience and leadership qualities, not to mention he is clutch with his 3s in Staples Center.  Since he is a free agent, I believe that the Wizards should not bother to re-sign Roger Mason Jr., and use their extra money plus some of the money Gilbert left behind and make a big attempt to sign this man.  People might say, but the Wizards need a big man.  That is 100% true and I completely agree with it, believing we should have taken Darrell Arthur or traded up to get Roy Hibbert, but both championship teams that Posey played for only had 1 solid big man; Heat with Shaq and Celtics with Garnett.  The Heat had Udonis Haslem at the 4 and the Celtics had Kendrick Perkins at the 5.  To me, those two are not solid big men.  The Wizards have Antawn Jamison at the 4.  Posey brings a great boost off the bench with energy, clutch performances, and great free throw shooting.  Think about this... Gilbert, Stevenson, Caron, Jamison, Haywood as the starting 5, with Posey coming in at the 2.  To me, that is a huge threat.  However, Posey is talking to the Lakers, the team he just beat in the NBA Finals, so this is very unlikely to happen.

Filene's Basement

Yes this post is about a clothing store that does not actually sell it's own clothes; it sells name brand clothes for a cheap price!  It's great.  My mom shops there all the time, and since I had nothing better to do today since it was raining, I went up there with her.  At the men's section I noticed they had an assortment of name brands; American Eagle, Affliction, Ed Hardy, Ralph, ect.  I picked up 2 Affliction shirts, both were $30.  Being that the total of these two shirts was the price of about one shirt, with some exceptions for the very expensive ones, I was pumped.  Then I picked up two nice pairs of jeans that you can find in Nordstrom's for $30 a pair.  These were some great discounts!  If you're broke and trying to save some money, but still look fresh, check this place out!  Look at the bags they give you too...

Coney Island Tradition

As I was flippin' through the channels yesterday I came across a hot dog eating contest held every 4th of July.  It's a Nathan's Hot Dog eating contest that takes place in Coney Island, New York, the birthplace of Nathan's Hot Dogs.  You can see each one on ESPN, because somehow this is a sport.  To me, this contest is flat out disgusting.  How do you stuff all those hot dogs down your throat in minutes to see who can eat the most.  What does this prove???  "Man you suck, you only ate 63 hot dogs and I ate 64!"  Come on now, what kind of bragging rights is this?  I just don't get it...  If you haven't seen it already, check it out...

New Look

O yes, I got the new layout because I wasn't posting, so I thought I'd change that and post more, and I should switch up the look of the blog.  I like it more than the last layout but hit me up with how you think of it or any suggestions.

Breaking News

Following up on the offseason for the Wizards, Agent Zero agreed to sign with the team for a 6 year $111 million contract.  He agreed for $16 million less because he said he didn't want to bind the team financially and we still have money left over to sign Roger Mason Jr. if we wanted to.  Just read the link so it doesn't look like I'm copying what they say.

Now it's also the 4th of July which means fireworks and parties!!  Well just remember it's also our nation's birthday...but get those fireworks poppin!

Wizards Offseason

Alright so the Wizards drafted a 7 foot foward Javale McGee from Nevada, who should probably play center for us.  They also signed Antawn Jamison to a 4 year extension, who has been the most consistent player on the team as far as health and performance.  He's coming off his best season in the NBA at the age of 32.

Now they Wiz are trying to resign Gilbert Arenas.  They offered Arenas a 6 year deal worth $127 million, a max deal that Arenas wanted.  He also got a max deal from his first team, Golden State, who just lost Baron Davis to the Clippers, for 5 years $101 million.  Now Arenas said he wants to stay in DC, especially if Jamison stayed, because they have played together almost all of Arenas's career.  Now that Jamison is staying and they offered Arenas the max deal, he should definitely come back.  I know a lot of people have been hating on him because of his "ball-stopping" and knee injuries, but come on now.  Healthy he put up 28.4 points per game, 4th in the league.  He is our best scorer and when we had a healthy team, we were 1st in the East.  We've already proven we can beat Boston, the champs.  Now we have 3 all-stars on our team, why would you want to lose one to rack up more assists?  He needs to stay and should.

One last free agent is Roger Mason Jr., the local.  Yes he was a good scorer towards the end of the season, but I think we should try harder on James Posey, even though that isn't likely.  If we can't find a better backup PG, then go ahead and resign Mason.
