New Shaq in the Desert?

By now, everybody should know about Shaq getting traded to the Suns for Shawn Marion. This trade is crazy! Why would you trade one of your best players for a center that is in his mid-30s and is injured all the time!? You already have one of the best centers in the game in Amare Stoudemire, so why go and get another and have a big man lineup on a fast-break team? Shaq is old and slow, out of his prime, and doesn't play in the style that the Suns play in. He can still be effective, but I don't know how long he can last in a running up/down style of offense.

Now Shaq has pledged that he can help the Suns get over "the hump", but how long is it gonna take? Who knows how much Shaq has left in him...It took him 2 seasons to get a championship in Miami, but he was younger, and him and Dwayne Wade weren't always injured. You can't forget that they played in the East. Now that he has been injured most of the season and a good part of last season, can his legs still hold up to compete in the Wild West, especially now that the Lakers have stocked up with Gasol and the Spurs got Mighty Mouse? Everything should unfold soon, as Shaq has said he might play tomorrow against the Wizards, but who knows. Right now I have the Lakers winning the West if Bynum comes back, since Kobe and Gasol are tearing it up right now. If this trade works for the Suns however, there is a good chance you will see the Suns and the Lakers possibly competing in the West Championship game. But for now, all you can do it wait!
